so if my smoke detector is dying....the beeps/chirps will happen more often....but when it dies will it just stop or sound its full alarm????? I really dont care if it just dies as its not really my responsibility to keep it in good shape as I am basically not even allowed to touch it (how would I check it if I cant touch it???????)....I hope it just dies a silent death.

in other news: the airports are now adding yet another harassing technique to their already numerous ones---now they are going to wand your hands to see if you have touched any 'bad' substances in the last x amount of hours.....oy.....soon they will just tell everyone to not bring any luggage, or wear any clothing (that will be interesting)....I dont think they understand the full ....extent ..of the amount of harassment the public will take before just not flying altogether (I'm already passed my limit).

I still dont quite understand what they expect to see when they xray a water bottle, can they tell its water and not vodka, bleach, or some other clear liquid??? and what exactly DO they see ....water/vodka dont xray.

mind boggling stuff.

you cant take scissors with you on an airplane either...nor toenail clippers. (know people who have had them taken from them...both the scissors and the clippers).

you can take childrens scissors with you.

but in my opinion, it has gone a bit to far with the security on airplanes. ofcourse there need to be some security, but this is crazy, if people really want to wreck havoc, just go in the cockpit and take the Axe that's hanging there.

That's cause you can't really stab anyone with those. Cause they are not pointed at the end. And cockpit doors are locked now during flight I believe.

yes just about anything can be made into a weapon---clothing, you can smoother someone with it....even that pen you are allowed to have in the looney bin---you can stab someones eye out with it!!
yep just about anything can.....and at somepoint will be used for something other than its intended purpose.

(if some of you wore stilettos we would be suspicious, however, there are a few ladies on the forum---though I would rather be dead than wear high heels---and if I did I would probably be spending a good deal of time afterwards in traction for my 2 pinched discs!)
